World Biking – Quest to Cycle Every Country on Earth
On Sunday, the weather finally cleared up a bit and it stopped raining. That’s good news for Amaya and Eric, two people I know through the Internet who are currently cycling in Taiwan. They are on a quest to be the first couple to cycle through every country in the world. I believe Taiwan is country number 81 for them.
They began cycling in June of 2006 and since then have ridden 90,000 kilometers through Africa, Europe and the Americas. About a week and a half ago, they took a ferry from mainland China to the Penghu Islands of Taiwan and then another ferry to Taiwan. I got a brief message from them at one point and they were on the road and heading toward Keelung. They had taken shelter in a fire station, and the kind fire fighters had offered them a place to stay and use of their dryer to dry out their soaking wet clothes. I think it had rained every single day up until then.
The weather wasn’t a great introduction to Taiwan, but it looks like some better weather is on the way. Check out Amaya and Eric’s journey at their blog: World Biking
