It costs 5 ringgit to get into the National Museum. It’s official Malay name is Muzium Negara, and you can check out the English website here.

It’s located just a short walking distance from the Kuala Sentral station. It’s not totally obvious how to walk there, but it’s a simple matter to ask people and get directions. There is also a lot of construction going on around the museum, so it’s not an easy walk. Then again, walking anywhere in Kuala Lumpur is not what you’d call easy.

There are four large galleries at the museum – Gallery A – Prehistory, Gallery B – The Malay Kingdom, Gallery C – Colonial Era, and Gallery D – Malaysia Today. It’s not a museum that is going to blow your mind, but it is pleasant and informative and well worth the reasonable 5-ringgit entrance fee.
