VIDEO: Bustling Life Along the Irrawaddy – A WALK BESIDE MYANMAR’S LONGEST RIVER
One of my favorite activities is simply to walk around and watch how people work and live their lives in other countries. I would normally take pictures on these walkabouts, but I used my GoPro this time and shot video instead.
And my favorite place for these walkabouts is anywhere near water – along an ocean, around a lake, or, as in this case, beside a river. I walked perhaps four kilometers up the Irrawaddy River starting at the Mingun Jetty in Mandalay. I passed a lot of boats and trucks being loaded and unloaded plus a half dozen additional interesting sights.
Once I reached my destination upriver, I turned around and retraced my steps back along those meandering four kilometers before returning to my hotel to get ready for my flight to Kuala Lumpur the next day.
