Motorcycle Mechanic
This man was one of the mechanics at this garage. He is working on a very typical local motorbike. I have heard them referred to as “underbones”. I’m sure there is another name for them in the Philippines. They are like a cross between a scooter and a motorcycle. It is like a motorcycle in that there is no helmet compartment under the seat, no platform for your feet, and you have to change gears. However, it is like a scooter in that you don’t have to manipulate a clutch in order to change gears. That is done automatically. I’ve often thought that the scooters in Taiwan would be very useful here. It surprises me that they aren’t sold here. I think they would be more useful than these motorcycles.
