Rambling through Petaling Jaya in Search of a New Tripod
New possessions often lead to a perceived need for even more possessions. And my new Panasonic G85 is no exception. With this new camera has a come a need for new microphones, new bags, new memory cards, and even a new tripod.
I did not want to spend a lot of time researching and looking for the best mini-tripod that can also be used for vlogging. I’m VERY tired of researching products. I just wanted to know two things: Which tripod was the best? And where can I buy it?
Luckily, there was an easy answer to both questions. The best tripod for me was clearly the Sirui 3T-35K. It was head and shoulders above the competition.
And best of all, buying one of these tripods wasn’t going to involve a trip to the farthest reaches of the planet or having a package shipped in from Siberia. If the Internet were to be believed, I could buy one of these marvelous tripods at a camera store in nearby Petaling Jaya.
And so, on this sunny day in Kuala Lumpur, I set off on a shopping expedition to Petaling Jaya. Did I get my tripod? Or did I fail miserably in my efforts? I’ll leave that a mystery and let you find out by watching the video.
Along the way, I babbled non-stop about my new camera and the features and challenges it offered. If you like that kind of thing, I hope you enjoy it. If camera talk bores you to tears, then you can skip ahead to my visit to the Petaling Jaya museum.
